Samsung is bringing crypto transfers to 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices
The feature is scheduled for the last week of October and will use Coinbase and Bastion behind Samsung's existing wallet interface. Reach does not yet prove usage.
Article
Samsung Wallet is scheduled to add cross-border USDC transfers on Solana for U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October.
The important part is where the feature appears. Users are not being sent to a separate crypto app. Solana Foundation says the transfer will sit inside the Samsung Wallet interface already used for cards, IDs and tickets.
The announced reach is 82 million U.S. Galaxy devices. That is an addressable audience, not a forecast of how many people will use the service.
How the transfer is meant to work
A sender starts with ordinary money or a supported balance inside Samsung Wallet. Coinbase provides the stablecoin experience, Bastion provides infrastructure and USDC moves on Solana behind the interface.
At the other end, integrated on- and off-ramps are meant to convert between USDC and local currency.
A stablecoin is designed to track a reference value, usually one U.S. dollar. Solana supplies the settlement network. It does not set the exchange rate, corridor availability or local payout rules.
Solana announced that Samsung Wallet will add USDC remittances for U.S. Galaxy users in the last week of October.

Why this is different from another wallet launch
Crypto payment products often ask users to install a new app, learn a new account system and move money into an unfamiliar balance.
Samsung already controls the interface. If the rollout works as described, crypto becomes settlement infrastructure rather than the product a user has to understand.
That distribution could matter for Solana transaction demand and stablecoin activity. It does not automatically create demand for SOL beyond the network resources required to process transactions.
What remains unknown
- Which countries and payout corridors are supported.
- The total fee and foreign-exchange spread.
- Which Galaxy devices and Samsung account types qualify.
- Transfer limits and compliance checks.
- Whether recipients need Samsung Wallet.
- How local currency reaches a bank account or cash-out partner.
Samsung’s own technical and support documentation will matter more than the partner headline once the service opens.
The scale is real at the distribution layer. Adoption begins only when people can complete a transfer at a competitive final cost.
