STABLE moved its next token unlock to December 2027
Stable's official whitepaper replaced the old schedule on October 5. Eighty-two billion STABLE are now locked, making the October 8 unlock shown on some calendars stale.
Article
Several crypto calendars still show roughly 888.89 million STABLE unlocking on October 8.
Stable’s official whitepaper now says that event is no longer on the current schedule.
A new Universal Lock took effect on October 5. It places 82 billion STABLE under one release plan and moves the first release to December 8, 2027.
For traders, the immediate point is simple: the expected October supply increase should not be treated as current without newer official evidence.
What the new lock changes
STABLE has a fixed total supply of 100 billion tokens.
The whitepaper says 18 billion were in circulation when the new lock took effect:
- 10 billion from the original Genesis Distribution.
- 8 billion from the Foundation’s day-one unlock.
The remaining 82 billion are now in one locked pool. Team, investor, advisor and Foundation allocations release at the same rate. Foundation tokens that had unlocked above the original 8 billion were also relocked.
This replaces the earlier team and investor vesting schedule.
When tokens can start releasing
The first 4.1 billion STABLE are scheduled to begin releasing on December 8, 2027. They do not all enter circulation on that day. The amount releases gradually over 180 days.
Six later floors begin between March 2028 and June 2029. The complete 82 billion locked pool is scheduled to finish releasing by December 8, 2029.
The whitepaper also adds a price rule. If STABLE’s 30-day average price is below $0.025 before a floor begins, that floor moves back by three months. A floor can be delayed for at most nine months. A higher price cannot make it start early.
Why stale calendars matter
An unlock calendar is often treated like a countdown to new selling pressure. That only works if the underlying schedule is still current.
Tokenomist and DefiLlama were still displaying an October 8 release when we checked them. Those pages were useful discovery leads, but the issuer’s October 5 whitepaper is newer and directly contradicts them.
One analytics post on X also repeated the old October number:
An unlock calendar post listed roughly $24.3 million of STABLE for October 8.

What to watch now
- Calendar updates: third-party trackers should remove or revise the October 8 entry.
- A lock-contract address: the reviewed whitepaper describes the policy but does not identify a public enforcement contract.
- The $0.025 threshold: it can delay future release floors.
- Governance power: locked STABLE still carries voting rights, so the supply lock does not remove those holders from governance.
The correction removes an immediate unlock from the calendar. It does not remove future dilution, governance concentration or the need to verify how the lock is enforced.
Sources and reporting notes
Checked October 6, 2026. The current supply, Universal Lock, release floors, price-safety rule and voting rights come from Stable’s official whitepaper v2, including its October 5, 2026 effective date.
The stale October 8 entries were still visible on Tokenomist and DefiLlama during research. The whitepaper says technical specifications and timelines may evolve. It did not identify a lock-contract address in the reviewed section.
